Chi Town

Off to Chicago today.
4 days.
I love vacation time.

the latest

it's about time i blogged

i know it has been a while

{so} much has happened as of lately

and i know that most of the people that read this have been a part of my summer happenings

---but---

i'll give an update

**photos mostly, because we all like those**

it made my day when my dad called me yesterday and told me

"you haven't updated your blog in a long time, you should do that...people follow it ya know."

so let's go back to the middle of june

(that seems like a good place to start)

 

ash -my sister- came to visit me in salt lake city

we had some fun filled summer nights

i love having her visit

i feel lucky when she comes around

*

we went out to dinner

we attended the farmers market

we hit up the utah arts festival with friends

 then 

her and i took off to zion national park

we needed some quality time in mother nature

 we hiked angel's landing

it was her first time

talk about a pro

we had sunny weather

 summer has been treating me well

we have had plenty of nights where we have been able to enjoy park time

 hippy horse shoes has been a top memory

then at the end of june

i was able to head to logan for this girl's birthday

happy birthday to AMY

 

we played kickball and enjoyed a BBQ

what a fun time

i will never pass up a time to visit that favorite little town

then 

the first weekend of july

i went to idaho for a great irons family get together

we went deep into the beautiful mountains to our cabin at warm lake

 

jameson joined us

i think he was impressed by idaho's beauty

 

we had a great weekend away from the real world

 while we were there, we celebrated birthdays

july is a big month for our family

full of birthdays and anniversaries

my mom and dad did a great job planning

 

it was so beautiful up there

one of my most favorite places on this planet

then we made it back to slc for the 4th of july celebration

what a great holiday this is

 i love fireworks

i am proud to be an american

so proud

this year we watched them from sugarhouse park

after a few days 

i was off again

this time to minnesota

more lake time

more family time

 

ash got a harry potter cake for her b-day

grandma d always throws a great party

 

happy birthday to her

 

we also made bird cages with my grandparents 

i love the lakes of minnesota

don't let me fool you

i have stayed in salt lake too

 

it is always fun to get together with friends downtown

 plenty of summer dinner dates

i love patio dining

another week came and went

weekends = travel time

so we packed up and escaped on a trip to logan and bear lake

sunshine and summertime

 

babes relaxing in the sun

i love bear lake

 

amy was nice enough to have us all over 

the ivins are always great hosts

 

we even tried the italian restaurant

it was de-lic-ious

 summer is the best
i am lovin life

that i watch the bachelorette

every week

this post will make no sense if you do not watch that show

and good for you

it is the way i get the week rolling

it is the reason i wake up not necessarily hating mondays

it is an excuse to set aside a couple hours on mondays to watch drama unfold

lots of ridiculous drama

it is an excuse to make dinner as a group and lounge on the couch

though i cant stand ashley

i still tune in

because i love this guy

we all do

JP is probably the most liked man

**

he is a stud

but how annoyed were you that ashley compared everything on a scale of bentley

** the entire episode **

she definitely said bentley 100 times

...oh this show

the way we get by

a phrase of french

i returned from europe
with multiple phrases that i planned/hoped to incorperate into my daily conversations
i wanted to use phrases like cheers and chao and au revior
but sadly
- this never happened -
but there is one phrase that i do use on a regular basis
one that flows naturally out of my mouth
one that seems fit fo the situations in my life

c'est la vie

thus is life... come what may...
i use this always

growing up our summers consisted of vacations

many

when you have parents that are college teachers

you get the huge plus of hanging out all summer long and playing

so now that i'm grown up... this idea and concept of summer hasn't changed

i still manage to get away

*

did i tell you

that i'm going to chicago

for a long weekend at the end of july

me and this kid

along with the rest of the spooner family

*

i am {very}excited to see a new city

i am {very} excited to be in the sunshine

i am {very} excited to hangout and relax

i am {very} excited to play with a niece and 2 nephews
